Srinagar- Srinagar on Saturday witnessed a massive outpouring of devotion as a grand Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) rally to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The rally began from the revered shrine of Mir Shamsuddin Araki (RA) at Zadibal at Noon and passed through Alamgari Bazar, Hawal and adjoining localities, before culminating at the historic Imambara Gulshanbagh. The rally was organized by Anjumane Sharie Shian.

Thousands of men, women and children thronged the streets, carrying green flags, chanting Allahu Akbar and Ya Rasool Allah, while reciting Naats in praise of the Prophet (PBUH). The atmosphere was charged with spirituality as participants walked together in remembrance. A major highlight of the procession was the participation of thousands of school children in neat uniforms, carrying placards bearing messages of peace, compassion and unity. Their disciplined presence infused youthful energy into the rally. “We come out every year to show our love for the Prophet (PBUH). The rally drew emotional scenes along its route, with people joining spontaneously, raising hands in prayers and reciting verses from the Qur’an. “This procession is more than a march — it is our collective expression of reverence. Walking together fills our hearts with humility and tears of joy,” said Fatima Bano, a participant from Budgam. Authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the rally, including security deployment, traffic regulation, water supply and medical assistance. Officials said the procession concluded peacefully at Imambara Gulshanbagh in Zadibal, where special prayers and Qur’anic recitations were held. Reports said similar Milad processions were also organised in other districts of Kashmir, with large gatherings of devotees participating in night-long supplications and community prayers.
